Gennady Chizhikov was born on February 19, 1964 in Donetsk. After graduating from high school with a gold medal, in 1981-1985 he studied at the Faculty of Trade and Economics of the Donetsk Institute of Soviet Trade. After serving in the army he worked as an economist at the department of trade organization of the Donetsk firm "Furniture", and since 1987 - at the Donetsk Institute of Soviet Trade, where he held the positions of assistant, associate professor of the department of enterprise economics. In 1992 he defended his PhD thesis, after a while - a doctorate in the specialty FEA. Has over 80 published scientific and nonfiction articles. Trained at Bradford School of Business, National University of Ireland (Cork), Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce (USA). For over 20 years he has been engaged in the development of the Chamber movement in Ukraine. From 1994 to 2002 he worked as a Vice President of the Donetsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry. From June 2002 to February 2013 he headed the Donetsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Since February 2013 - President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine. On May 19, 2015, he was re-elected President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine. During this time, a network of export support centers was set up in the CCI of Ukraine, the National Export Forum was established , bilateral business councils were established with partners from 30 countries, and a number of agreements on cooperation with partner organizations were concluded.
